“When people ask me what I am trying to convey through my paintings, I find it hard to put into words. For me each painting needs to speak for itself. The colours evoke emotions which have a personal elemental context. I paint what I feel and hope that others feel something too. It’s all about how a painting makes you feel.”
Under the Midnight Sun is a collection of new works that draw on the wonderful light that appears each summer around the solstice, just before the sun sets, when the horizon all but disappears and the landscape becomes hazy and begins to hum, just before darkness falls. A magical light, full of promise for tomorrow.
